What does it mean when my professor says they have placed books or article on reserve?

Answer

This means that they have asked us to hold some materials for your class and to check them out to students for use within the Library only. Therefore, everyone in the class has a chance to use the materials. To use these Reserves, simply ask for help at the circulation desk.
