What does it mean when my professor says they have placed books or article on reserve?

This means they have asked us to hold some materials for your class. You can check out items on reserve for use in the library, but you have to return them before you leave. This gives everyone a chance to use the materials. If you need to view an item on reserve, ask at the front desk.
